@X084@X05.@X0832 @X03 TIMER DELAYS
@X08Timer delays@X05,@X08 or @X05"@X08time bombs@X05"@X08 are usually employed by an individual who
wishes to threaten a place with a bomb and demand money to reveal its location
and means to disarm it@X05.@X08 Such a device could be placed in any populated place
if it were concealed properly@X05.@X08 There are several ways to build a timer delay@X05.@X08
By simply using a screw as one contact at the time that detonation is desired@X05,@X08
and using the hour hand of a clock as the other contact@X05,@X08 a simple timer can be
made@X05.@X08 The minute hand of a clock should be removed@X05,@X08 unless a delay of less than
an hour is desired@X05.@X08

@X08This device is set to go off in eleven hours@X05.@X08 When the hour hand of the
clock reaches the contact near the numeral 5@X05,@X08 it will complete the circuit@X05,@X08
allowing current to flow through the igniter or squib@X05.@X08
The main disadvantage with this type of timer is that it can only be set
for a maximum time of 12 hours@X05.@X08 If an electronic timer is used@X05,@X08 such as that in
an electronic clock@X05,@X08 then delays of up to 24 hours are possible@X05.@X08 By removing
the speaker from an electronic clock@X05,@X08 and attaching the wires of a squib or
igniter to them@X05,@X08 a timer with a delay of up to 24 hours can be made@X05.@X08 To utilize
this type of timer@X05,@X08 one must have a socket that the clock can be plugged into@X05.@X08
All that one has to do is set the alarm time of the clock to the desired time@X05,@X08
connect the leads@X05,@X08 and go away@X05.@X08 This could also be done with an electronic
watch@X05,@X08 if a larger battery were used@X05,@X08 and the current to the speaker of the
watch was stepped up via a transformer@X05.@X08 This would be good@X05,@X08 since such a timer
could be extremely small@X05.@X08 The timer in a VCR @X05(@X08Video Cassette Recorder@X05)@X08 would
be ideal@X05.@X08 VCR@X05'@X08s can usually be set for times of up to a week@X05.@X08 The leads from
the timer to the recording equipment would be the ones that an igniter or squib
would be connected to@X05.@X08 Also@X05,@X08 one can buy timers from electronics stores that
would be ideal@X05.@X08 Finally@X05,@X08 one could employ a digital watch@X05,@X08 and use a relay@X05,@X08 or
electro@X05-@X08magnetic switch to fire the igniter@X05,@X08 and the current of the watch would
not have to be stepped up@X05.@X08
